Food intolerance

Food allergies get a lot of attention because a food allergy is often disruptive to life and, in some cases, life-threatening.  There’s no question that it should be taken seriously, but so should a food intolerance.  It can be long-term and serious and requires a proper food intolerance test to be diagnosed.  And, it’s a really good idea to get a test done if you suspect you may have a food intolerance.  There are so many reasons:

1) A food intolerance test is definitive and easy:

There is no more “trying a little bit of this” and waiting or “maybe I shouldn’t eat that” and avoiding something that you love. With a food intolerance test, you’ll get definitive answers on what your body is reacting to, and it’s as easy as picking the test type of your choosing (yes, you can choose the one that feels right for you).

2) It helps you determine it’s an intolerance:

Seems obvious, but it’s important to remember that a lot of intolerance get misdiagnosed as allergies. This means that you can sporadically enjoy the food that you’re reacting to in small doses. Sure, it’s a great idea to avoid it, but you don’t need to worry about a full-blown allergic reaction if you splurge every once in a while.

3) It helps you understand strange symptoms:

When you keep getting migraines or stomach aches or any other variety of symptoms without a clear reason, knowing that you have a food intolerance can help you stay in control of it. Knowing that what you’re eating is making you sick is great at, well, avoiding the trigger.

4) It helps you predict intolerances in your children:

If you’re concerned about your children and any potential issues they may be having, learning that you have an intolerance yourself can help you to get them tested if needed, or be on the lookout for similar mysterious symptoms. When you’re a parent, one less worry is always a good thing.

Finding out that you have a food intolerance is certainly no fun at all, but it isn’t the end of the world either.  It can give you a lot of benefits and peace of mind that you won’t find anywhere else that is going to be that easy to make happen.  If you needed a push to take a food intolerance test, here it is in the numbered points form!
